2025

The whole crew!
Ah, 2025... what a year. We once again feel so lucky to live on the greatest block in the best state in the union. The impromptu gatherings, the planned block gatherings, the birthday celebrations, the marathon party, the pig roast, and of course the sounds of the kids in perpetual motion. (That trampoline may be the most used trampoline in the history of trampolines!)
AI Speaker & Advocate
Michael spent a lot of time reading executive orders and listening to congressional hearings while trying to estimate projects amidst weekly price increases. His talks on AI have been popular, and he's racked up miles keynoting conferences around the country. Highlights included mentions in the WSJ and two Forbes articles, an award for thinking, and hanging out with Brian Oake on his podcast. He also made a website in response to the current administration's efforts. Check it out here

Resilient & Adventurous
Andrea had a rough start to the year with the destruction of USAID which has left millions of people suffering, and hundreds of thousands of people jobless. Her center let hundreds of people go, and she spent much of the year shutting down projects across Africa. She feels lucky to be supporting projects in Ethiopia, South Sudan, and a number of other countries. Her trip to Nigeria was cut short when the Meteorologists threatened to go on strike, and Michael joined her in South Africa for a 5 day vacation that included amazing wine, gorgeous vistas, a crazy AirBnb in a pasture with goats and chickens, a drive along the coast to see Penguins, and the very windy Cape of Good Hope. She also started her first year as a Blizzard Ski School instructor!

Working & Studying
Rigo has been working at the Waters while attending Normandale. His focus has shifted from Kinesiology to Psychology and Behavioral studies, but is still exploring. He passed his driver's permit exam and we're looking forward to having another driver in the family. (At some point we're going to need a garageβ¦)

YouTube Star & Cellist
Samuel cut his hair, continued playing the cello (and less piano), dove deeper into video making with over 1.1 million views and 16K subscribers on YouTube! He finished his last year at Burroughs and started his three year stint at Justice Page. His skiing took a major jump in Montana, and has added Nybora freestyle ski school to his schedule.

Exploring Minnesota
The Grinch tried to steal Xmas by stealing all the stuff. He failed. The current administration can put their name on the Kennedy center, make our health department a joke, and destroy our institutions, but like the Grinch, they can't take away what makes this country truly special. Our diverse backgrounds coming together to help and support each other. Our volunteerism and determination to make the world a better place for all people. A place where we accept and celebrate our differences, where we take care of our neighbors regardless of color or creed. As long as we stay vigilant and keep our hearts open, our orange grinch will also fail.
